Mosquito Records London PTY Ltd proudly presents Ike Moriz featuring Monique Hellenberg: Something Stupid (now on all streaming and download platforms).

‘Something Stupid' was first made famous by Nancy and Frank Sinatra in 1967. It has been covered numerous times since.

This fresh and beautifully minimalist 21st-century arrangement of Carson Parks classic bolero showcases the smooth and elegant vocals of Cape Town’s legendary singers Ike Moriz (20 albums since 2002) and Monique Hellenberg (of Goldfish fame).

This isn’t the first time the two South African jazz and pop stars have sung together: In 2014 they appeared on Moriz's album Nobody Does it Better performing the title song duet as well as Hoagy Carmichael’s dreamy jazz standard Skylark in perfect harmony.

Staying true to the nostalgic Italian flair of the original hit song, the cover depicts an angel with a lance from Sant Angelo Bridge in Rome, Italy, paired with the roman numerals 1966, the year the song was composed, and 2021, the year this version was recorded by Moriz and Hellenberg at the southernmost tip of Africa.
